EFT for Children: How to Make & Use a Tapping Toy

Easily Teach EFT Tapping to Children

Whether it’s by a parent, other family member, child caregiver, in schools, or through mental health intervention, teaching young children coping strategies with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is worth exploring…

A Toolbox for EFT Tapping with Children

This EFT toolbox includes everything needed to teach EFT tapping to young children

Inside the package is: a 71-page instructional eBook, How to Make and Use an EFT Tapping Toy Companion, and short recorded discussions, by Dr. Patricia Carrington, on tapping with an upset child and some guidance for surrogate tapping on a child.

The eBook is a derivative of Dr. Carrington’s hardcover book, A Guide to TappyBear, which was packaged with TappyBear, a manufactured EFT toy that she and EFT enthusiast, Till Schilling (and his daughters), developed and marketed in 2008. The manufacturing of the stuffed bear was complicated and did not continue after the last batch of bears had been produced. Much of the information in the eBook applies to any EFT tapping toy and to anyone striving to teach EFT to children. The eBook has been edited to omit unrelated, or redundant, content and includes new, helpful information.

Included in this package is the original Tap Along with Tappy video and audios, previously sold as a DVD & CD set, that was converted for convenient downloads, along with an eBook of instructions for using them with a child. Our hope is to “resurrect” the spirit of that cuddly and lovable tapping toy to help bring its great value to many more children and families around the world.

Why use an EFT Tapping Toy with Children?

A tapping toy is an easy way to teach EFT to young children in a manner in which they not only learn the tapping spots by contacting the EFT spots/buttons on the toy and by imitating the use of the EFT tapping spots on themselves, they also learn the value and meaning of EFT as they apply it to the imaginary problems of their tapping “friend.”

The Tap Along with Tappy Videos and Audios

The TappyBear videos and audios (suitable for ages 3-10) help to symbolize the use of EFT for children. Together, they are a fun and effective facilitator of active EFT participation by any child who watches and listens. With guidance, they provide a means by which a child learns to use EFT by him or herself at an early age, and can then independently apply it to their own fears, challenges, and problems. They do this in a heartwarming and playful way. Devised by Dr. Patricia Carrington, they give you a unique opportunity to share the EFT Tapping process with your child and get them started tapping with excitement and enthusiasm right away.

The “Instructions for Videos and Audios” PDF provides specific guidance for using them with children of varying ages. The MP4 videos include the full version, and various segments of it, in separate files, for teaching purposes. Combined, the total video length is about 25 minutes and the MP3s are the music and lyrics portion of the full video, only, so any one of the songs can be accessed whenever needed.

Together, the videos and audios skillfully:

  • Introduce the child to EFT and its concepts
  • Explain the process in a fun way
  • Show the tapping points to the child with the help of a lovable stuffed bear “role model” (TappyBear)
  • Use songs and lyrics to get the child to tap along
  • Provide adults with instructions for using them with children.

These videos and audios are a natural way to teach a child the EFT process and convey its essential meaning – a message of mutual help and healing for oneself and others.

Mimicked by the child, EFT can become a permanent resource in a child’s life.  The child will learn how to handle the myriads of negative emotions, to which they are exposed to every day, very differently and in a more positive fashion.

Children deserve the best guidance and tools that we, as parents, grandparents, family members, caregivers, teachers, and counselors can provide them…
