EFT for Orphaned Rwanda Genocide Survivors

eft-for-rwanda-survivors-imageI want to share with you the amazing work of Lori Leyden, PhD, MBA. Dr. Leyden is an international trauma healing professional known  for using EFT/Tapping to heal Post Traumatic Stress Disorder of orphan genocide survivors in Rwanda. She is also the founder of the non-profit Create Global Healing (CGH) and creator of Project LIGHT: Rwanda – the world’s first international youth healing, peace-centered leadership and entrepreneurship program.

When you watch this video you may be as surprised, as I certainly was, to see some of the amazing reductions in stress level of the participants (their SUDS level coming way, way down) at the end of single tapping session, which commenced with the average stress level at about a 9 for these severely traumatized people.  It is quite incredible, and I know Lori, their teacher and therapist in the film, and her authenticity – she would never misrepresent evidence.  My guess is that the intense, continuous tapping for several hours which she describes had much to do with the startling result – they were just tapping and tapping until finally their systems responded.  It also may be partly due to the fact that the wonderful result was facilitated by the endorsement of tapping by tribal personalities whom these students looked up to, so their acceptance level of the technique was unusually high.  At any rate, you will find some surprising and inspiring results here.  I would be very interested to hear what you think about this Rwanda project, so please share your thoughts in the comments section below – and I’m sure other people would too!

  1. Having worked in Nigeria during the Biafra war, I know the pain of such hate that leaves scars that EFT can help manage. Thanks for what you are doing to lift the lives of the people.
